Vantego - Logo and Package Design

The Vantego brand of surge protectors by Newpoint Technologies, Inc. introduced a new line with a unique feature: a configuration that allowed each model to fit in compact spaces while being able to expand to reveal additional outlets if they were eventually needed.

Client’s goal: Create retail packaging that would convey the product line’s expandability feature while providing a strong presence on store shelves.

Awareness
: Technetium Creative designed a logo consisting of parallel stylized “V’s” representing Vantego that convey speed and motion. Product packaging was custom designed using SolidWorks 3D design software to give the sides of the packaging the appearance of expanding as a visual means of indicating the product’s competitive advantage and technically advanced features. Graphics and copy on the packaging’s front inserts told the expandability story.

Affinity: The front panel explanation of the line’s expandability feature informed consumers that the products were designed as the solution to an increasingly common problem. Directly addressing the target market in this manner indicated that Vantego was aware of its needs and had the ideal product for meeting them.

Action: The logo, packaging design, front insert information and view of the product itself combined to prompt sales in major consumer electronics, office superstore and satellite markets.

Analytics: Vantego proved to be a strong performer throughout all retail venues. The brand was purchased by Philips – a global leader in healthcare, lighting and consumer lifestyle – soon after Vantego’s introduction.

The professionally designed curriculum provides step-by-step audio instruction in a series of CDs. Lessons in performing specific songs are available on CD under the company's Play-It-Now Tunes brand.

Client's goal: To undergo a complete rebranding to raise the profile of TalkingTabs and Play-It-Now Tunes in the marketplace while conveying the message that its audio-only instruction method is easy enough to be successfully learned by anyone motivated to play guitar.
